Japan Day is just another cultural day that New York City designates a day for any organization that wants to run an event.  This is the third year for this event.  Its goal is to showcase parts of Japanese Culture to the public.  Last year they had a performance by Halcali which had ties to Anime themesongs.  But this year nothing was specifically related to Anime/Manga.

I didn’t have too much time but I dropped by Central Park to see the cosplayers that planned to show up.   I needed to put in some time before AnimeNEXT rolls around  into a lens I just purchased the Lensbaby.   Its a selective focus lens which only the “sweet spot” as the manufacturer calls it is in focus, the rest of the image is completely distorted.  The lens is basically full manual control.  I was kind of getting the slight hang of how the focus points work with the different lens openings.  Its kinda fun to use.  So while some of the photos came out really bad it at least gives me some practice getting it down.    While I’m working getting the gallery links working click HERE for Japan Day Photos.
